Elizabeth Burton ALC
I am a safe, caring, and calm person, here to help guide you through life’s trials and tribulations therapeutically and effectively. As your therapist, I will help you reflect and develop coping skills for overcoming uncomfortable feelings and thoughts. I believe in the quality of the therapeutic relationship and the dedication of both therapist and client in this work. Your comfort level is the most important to me, as therapy is vulnerable and hard work!
I have worked in the mental health field for about three years. I am an Associate Licensed Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with specialized training in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Counseling (ages 0-5) from Troy University. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, along with Honors degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Alabama.
My experience is working with children, adolescents, and their families through individual and family therapy in a community counseling setting. I have primarily worked with individuals and families who have experienced trauma.
I enjoy working with all ages (particularly teenagers), adolescents, and families. I have experience in behavior modification, as well as in other disorders such as ODD, Adjustment Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD.
My space is LGBTQ+ safe. I strive to create a space for you to heal and grow.
